Do You Know That God Is Rich For You?

4:19 "And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

It is one thing to understand God’s " riches in glory in Christ Jesus." It is another thing to realize that they are there for YOU. It is not just that there is some great heavenly treasury somewhere that has lots of valuable things in it. It is that God has given this treasury to US in the giving of Christ Jesus.

Sometimes we think of ourselves as meagerly supplied. If we are in Christ Jesus, nothing could be further from the truth. All of the vast wealth of God, every blessing on earth and in heaven, is ours in Him. Everything He earned as a result of His perfect life, every reward He gained, He has made them all ours, because we are His.

The message which we are to preach to the world is the message of " the unfathomable riches of Christ." (Eph.3:8)

It is this rich treasury of grace that has been lavished on us in the redemption Christ has accomplished for us:

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us." (Eph.1:7-8)

It is from this storehouse of grace that God empowers us from within to be what we ought to be:

"(I pray that) He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man." (Eph.3:16)

The end result of God’s redemption of sinners is "that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." (Eph.2:7)

Indeed, the purpose of everything is for God "to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory." (Rom.9:23)

Beloved believer, open your eyes to the surpassing riches that have been lavished upon you in Christ. It is all for you! You! You! You! All Christ has is for you! Rise up and feast! Rise up and take your fill! Rise up and walk!

"Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and delight yourself in abundance." (Is.55:1-3)

How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! The children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings! They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; and You give them to drink of the river of Your delights! For with You is the fountain of life! In Your light we see light!

(The prayer is from Psalm 36:7-9.)
